The Smashing Pumpkins are an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1988 by frontman Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, bassist D'arcy Wretzky, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The band achieved massive commercial success in the 1990s with their alternative rock sound, releasing iconic albums including "Siamese Dream" (1993) and "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" (1995). The group initially disbanded in 2000 but reunited in 2007 and has continued performing and recording since.
