The present Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, with various leaders, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world. He was born in Clarinda, Iowa on March 1, 1904, the son of Mattie Lou (née Cavender) and Lewis Elmer Miller.[1][2] He went to grade school in North Platte, Nebraska. In 1915, Miller's family moved to Grant City, Missouri.
