My Chemical Romance is an American rock band from New Jersey formed in 2001 by Gerard Way, and known for their theatrical style blending punk rock, emo, and alternative rock. The band achieved mainstream success with their 2004 album 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge' and their 2006 concept album 'The Black Parade', before disbanding in 2013 and reuniting in 2019.
