Initially starting with a small community of fans, he began advertising on TikTok and had a breakthrough with his single Art House. While being significantly popular, it was overshadowed by the success of an advertisement for his then-unreleased track, Roommates. 3 videos teasing the song drew over 2 million views each. While it wasn’t new for his videos to reach millions, it skyrocketed him-- going from thousands of listeners to a million monthly. Malcolm released two EPs, Demos Before Prom and Shower Shoes, in 2022 and 2023.
