Laurie Anderson is an American experimental performance artist, composer, and musician known for her pioneering work in multimedia performance art and electronic music since the 1970s. She gained widespread recognition with her 1981 hit single "O Superman" and has worked extensively in avant-garde theater, installation art, and music throughout her career. Anderson was married to Lou Reed from 2008 until his death in 2013.
