Keith Farrelle Cozart (born August 15, 1995), known professionally as Chief Keef, is an American rapper and record producer. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, he began his recording career as a teenager and gained early regional recognition for his mixtapes in the early 2010s. Chief Keef is widely credited with popularising the hip hop subgenre drill among mainstream audiences and is regarded as one of its originators. His fifth mixtape, "Back from the Dead" (2012), produced the single "I Don't Like" featuring Lil Reese, which became a local success and marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
