War is an American funk and soul band formed in 1969 in Los Angeles, originally managed by Jerry Goldstein. The group is best known for their hit songs "Low Rider" (1975) and "Spill the Wine" (1970), and they became influential figures in bringing Latin and funk influences into mainstream rock and pop music during the 1970s.
