Public Image Ltd (PiL) is an experimental rock band founded in 1978 by John Lydon, formerly of the Sex Pistols, along with bassist Jah Wobble, guitarist Keith Levene, and drummer Jim Walker. Known for their avant-garde and genre-defying sound, PiL pioneered post-punk and industrial music throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, with influential albums including 'First Issue' (1978) and 'Metal Box' (1979).
