Mike D is the stage name of Michael Louis Diamond, best known as a founding member and producer of the hip-hop group Beastie Boys, formed in 1981. He has been instrumental in the band's production and creative direction throughout their career, which spanned from the 1980s until the group's dissolution following Adam Yauch's death in 2012.
