Herb Alpert is an American trumpeter, composer, and record executive who rose to fame in the 1960s as the leader of the Tijuana Brass, known for his distinctive trumpet sound and Latin-influenced pop arrangements. He achieved multiple Grammy Awards and platinum-selling albums, becoming one of the best-selling instrumental artists of all time. Beyond his performing career, Alpert founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss, which became a major independent record label.
